Walk America Now is based in Boston, MA, and encompasses the entire United States. This organization was established to promote community walking, encouraging individuals to come together and realize they do not have to walk alone. It also aims to provide mental health support, motivating those who prefer to walk solo to share their walking tips, recipes, or exercise advice with the larger walking community.
With Nikki, the founder, she walked a route every day by herself; some days, it would be pitch-black and quiet on the street. It got a little scary for her to continue, so she decided to invite others to join her on her wellness journey and create a sense of community walking together. This not only provided mental health support but also allowed her to share valuable walking tips with those who joined her.
The goal is to encourage individuals to engage in community walking, fostering connections with others as they walk and talk together. We aim to build a community of walkers across the country who share photos, videos, and inspirational quotes, creating a supportive environment. We invite people to share words of encouragement that may inspire those who lack motivation to walk. While the focus isn't solely on weight loss, it emphasizes the importance of mental health support and combating loneliness. It feels uplifting to know you have someone to talk to and see every day, free from judgment or ridicule.
